| NCJW Minnesota is ramping up our advocacy efforts — starting with participating in the Vote Forward letter-writing campaign, a national, nonpartisan effort to increase voter turnout by sending handwritten letters to underrepresented voters ahead of the election. Bring your passion for democracy; we’ll supply the pens, letters, and envelopes (and of course, some snacks). Mark your calendar for Sunday, October 26th.
This year, we’re showing the 1939 film Mr. Smith Goes To Washington along with the Vote Forward letter writing. You’ll have the option to come and write letters, then stay to watch the film, or come to watch the film and stay for letter writing. Adults and children 9+ are welcome. Registration information and more details to come! |

Minnesota Menstrual Products in School Toolkit A new resource is available to help schools across Minnesota implement the state’s menstrual product access law. The Minnesota Menstrual Products in Schools Toolkit (MPST) is a practical guide for educators and school staff, grounded in science and best practices in menstrual health and education. |
|
| Developed in partnership with the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota, this toolkit reflects extensive community input. Student researchers Kara Cowell and Mary Kenny held 56 partner meetings, collected more than 250 survey responses, and conducted 15 in-depth interviews with school staff to ensure the toolkit meets real needs across the state. NCJW MN is proud to have contributed to the efforts that led to the passage of legislation requiring that free menstrual products be provided in Minnesota schools. | |

![]() Resources to support parents and families in wake of the Annunciation Shooting In the wake of the recent tragedy at Annunciation Catholic School, JFCS Counseling and Parent Coaching is offering guidance and support for parents, children, and families navigating grief, fear, and uncertainty. |
|
| JFCS invites parents of children of any age to join us for a supportive drop-in session designed for parents navigating the emotional impact of recent school shootings and the challenges of back-to-school transitions.
This is a safe space to connect with parent educators and therapists, ask questions, share concerns, and explore ways to support your child—and yourself—during this difficult time. This is not therapy; rather a time to find connection and supportive strategies during these challenging times. The event is free and will be offered in a hybrid format. Two sessions will be offered, feel free to register for one or both. When: Tuesday, September 16th at noon-1pm If you have any questions please contact Leah Persky at lpersky@jfcsmpls.org |
