Women in the Workforce Film Series
A Summer Film Series Supporting the Equal Rights Amendment
The National Council of Jewish Women Minnesota (NCJW MN), in collaboration with local volunteers and scholars, proudly presents “Women in the Workforce,” a thought-provoking film series exploring the evolution of women’s roles in labor across the last century. The three-part series will run in July 2025 and is designed to support advocacy for the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) in Minnesota.
Each film highlights the challenges and achievements of women in their respective eras, sparking conversation on how far we’ve come—and how far we still have to go. Each screening will be followed by a facilitated conversation on gender, labor, and media representation. Expert speakers will help guide the dialogue.

Why Now? Why the ERA?
Passing a Minnesota Equal Rights Amendment would provide explicit protections against discrimination based on sex, race, gender identity, pregnancy, disability, and more. NCJW MN is an active member of the Minnesotans for Equal Rights Coalition, working to put this amendment on the ballot. Learn more about the ERA in Minnesota here.
Key Goals of the ERA Include:
– Protecting reproductive freedom from government interference
– Strengthening rights for the LGBTQ+ community
– Advancing disability justice
– Combating racial discrimination
In a time when basic rights and freedoms are under attack across the country, this amendment is a powerful and necessary step to protect Minnesotans, no matter who is in power.
