Greetings from new NCJW|MN President, Carrie Fink!

Dear friends,

I am honored to introduce myself as the new President of the Leadership Council for NCJW|MN. My name is Carrie Fink, and I am deeply committed to advancing our mission of improving the quality of life for women, children, and families.

As President, I look forward to working alongside our dedicated staff, Leadership Council members, advocates, and community partners to ensure our mission continues to grow and thrive. Outside of NCJW|MN, I work in fundraising for the Saint Paul Public Library system. I also enjoy reading, being outdoors, and spending time with my kids.

The months ahead bring exciting opportunities for us to expand our reach, deepen our impact and connect with even more individuals and families who can benefit from our work. I am excited to engage with each of you – our supporters, volunteers, and partners – as we build on our successes and embrace new opportunities together.

Thank you for your continued support, trust, and commitment to NCJW|MN. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and look forward to working alongside you to advance our shared vision.

Throughout this election season, NCJW|MN will share meaningful opportunities to get involved, celebrate our community’s progress, host educational webinars, and issue timely calls to action in response to authoritarian threats. We remain steadfast in our commitment to safeguarding individual rights and freedoms and advancing our mission of justice and equity.

Take action to protect the right to vote on July 17-19!

As we mark the 6th anniversary of the passing of voting rights champion Congressman John Lewis this weekend, NCJW is proud to partner with the Good Trouble Lives On Weekend of Action to honor the legacy of this great civil rights leader. We encourage you to participate in events happening to protect the right to vote in your communities over the weekend.

NCJW Opposes the Nomination of Todd Blanche as US Attorney General

Todd Blanche – the president’s former defense attorney and current acting Attorney General (after having served as Deputy Attorney General) – has been nominated to serve officially as the US AG. During his time in the Department of Justice, Blanche has harnessed its power to undermine reproductive rights, compromised its foundational mission to ensure equal justice for all, and weaponized the Department in pursuit of this administration’s partisan agenda. As the Senate Judiciary Committee begins its confirmation hearings this week, NCJW has taken an active role in opposing the nomination, including joining coalition partner letters, sending questions for the record for the hearings, and sending our own letters to the senate sharing why he is unfit for this job.

Please reach out to your senators to share your concerns and urge them to reject Mr. Blanche’s nomination.

Take Action This August Recess!

Members of Congress are home in their districts during the month of August — making it the perfect time to schedule in-district visits with your lawmakers or their key staff. We encourage you to set up meetings with your lawmakers while they are home next month. Check out this helpful guide on how to schedule meetings, as well as this useful resource on NCJW’s priority legislative issues for you to raise in your meetings! The goal of these meetings is to build relationships with senators and representatives, and their staff, and advocate for NCJW priorities!

Proponents of the SAVE Act have tried and failed time and time again to pass this awful bill. The battle over this legislation has even led to in-party fighting on Capitol Hill! It’s clear the anti-voter SAVE Act is not popular, but we need to keep up the pressure to ensure lawmakers know their constituents oppose it! Tell your Members of Congress to oppose the SAVE Act!

NCJW INC is excited to have launched our 2026 Voter. Voting. Voted! election toolkit! This landing page has specific opportunities tailored to NCJW leaders. We are excited to highlight opportunities to write letters and call voters through our partnership with VoteRiders, as well as information about abortion ballot initiatives in Idaho, Missouri, Nevada and Virginia. We will highlight specific opportunities to engage in our election work in the coming weeks.
